The grade is chosen for the service environment, not for what is cheapest or easiest to source. Each application below lists the grades ROBAN supplies into it most often.
Reactors, agitator shafts, valve trim, piping and heat exchangers handling mixed oxidising and reducing acids. Hastelloy C-276, C-22 and B-2 are the standard choices where both acid types and chlorides are present.
Wellhead and Christmas tree components, tubulars, subsea connectors and separators in sour service. Requires resistance to H2S and chloride environments.
Pump shafts, propeller components, fasteners and valves in continuous seawater. Duplex and super duplex grades resist chloride stress corrosion cracking.
Gas turbine hot section parts, steam superheater and turbine components, and boiler hardware operating at elevated temperature and cyclic stress.
Fixtures, retorts, baskets and radiant tubes operating in oxidising atmospheres at high temperature.
Pharmaceutical reactors, filter housings, piping and hygienic fittings where cleanability and product purity matter.
Combustor components, seal rings, fasteners and hot section hardware for industrial and aero-derivative gas turbines.
Resistance wire, precision resistors, bimetal contacts and cryogenic components where low resistivity and low thermal coefficient matter.
Heating elements, piping, valves and baskets handling sulphuric, hydrochloric and mixed acids.
Tell us the medium, the temperature and the corrosion or wear mechanism involved. We will propose the grade and explain why.
