Gas Turbine Materials

Alloys for Turbine Construction

Hot section strength, oxidation resistance, creep life and fastener capability — these are the grades the turbine industry specifies, and they are the grades ROBAN machines.

Hastelloy X

UNS N06002, DIN W. Nr. 2.4665

Turbine combustor parts, transition ducts and hot section hardware. Excellent oxidation resistance and good fabrication characteristics.

Inconel 625

UNS N06625, DIN W. Nr. 2.4856

Combustor components, seals and duct hardware. Retains strength to 816 °C and resists chloride corrosion.

Inconel 718

UNS N07718, DIN W. Nr. 2.4668

High-strength fasteners, shafts and rotating hardware through the 700 °C range, with good ageing characteristics.

Hastelloy S

UNS N06635

Combustor components and seal rings with excellent thermal stability and low thermal expansion.

Haynes 188

UNS R30188

Combustion cans, transition ducts and afterburner components in military and commercial aero gas turbines.

Inconel X750

UNS N07750, DIN W. Nr. 2.4669

Gas turbine discs, rings and high-strength fasteners where creep strength at elevated temperature is critical.

Incoloy A-286

UNS S66286, DIN W. Nr. 1.4980

High-temperature fasteners and springs retaining strength above 600 °C.

Matching material to service temperature

Above roughly 600 °C the failure mode is no longer yield strength but creep. Below it, oxidation and corrosion dominate. The grade in the drawing reflects that calculation — and we machine what the drawing specifies.

Fasteners

Bolt material is a common failure point. We supply high-temperature fasteners in the nickel and superalloy grades matched to the joint temperature and the creep life required, as studs, bolts or assembled bolt sets.
